Swamp 81

More great releases coming up from Loefah’s new label. They’ve already released the much rated Kryptic Minds album, but well worth checking out Skream’s forthcoming “Repercussions of a Razorblade” and The Bug feat. Flowdan “Run” both of which are featured on the myspace site.

Very much in the maximum bass pressure and dark as hell direction, both records sound brilliant to these ears at least…..

Ravertastic hands in the air bassline business from the Squire of Gothos over at Mashit. No class at all. Brilliant. Like a bassline version of Shitmat:

enjoy!

Found this footage of Rukso DJ-ing at Avalon in Hollywood. Seems like Dubstep’s caught on in the US then…

when they start singing the riff back to you, you probably know you’re having a good gig….

Two things for today

firstly – it’s the very first Digital Soundboy show on Rinse FM tonight with Breakage and MC Wrec

listen here

and secondly, the open mouthed horror currently exploding all over the internerd and generated by the new R Kelly tune “Pregnant”….

as drawn to my attention by TheFader here and totally cackle tastic.

sample lyrics:

“I met this girl in the club with an unbelievable booty,
Sweetest girl in the world and I mean it and on top of that shes a cutie,
I ain’t seen nothing like her around here in a while,
And if I had a girl she’d be the one to bear my child,
Telling myself I’m a playa so I keep tryna shake it off,
But I keep on seeing this big old house with a picket fence and a dog,
Never felt nothing like this,
Shes more than a mistress enough to handle my buisness,
Now put that girl in my kitchen,”

unbelievable.

King Midas Sound – FACT Magazine Mix

A Great late night soundsystem style mix from “King Midas Sound”, consisting of the trio of Kevin ‘The Bug’ Martin, Roger Robinson and Hitomi courtesy of FACT magazine.

Well worth checking (it just revealed to me where the sample on one of my favourite jungle tunes came from for a start)… throws it’s net a bit wider than just reggae…

check it out and download it from here

Loving this one, especially the “room shaker” distortion on the bass and the bloke made up like Kali after the breakdown… cheers to Steve for the heads up
